Green Acres Farm

Goodrich, MI

Chuck K. constructed his top-down compost system in 2006 and has been operating it continuously ever since. He constructed it in an area that is up against a property line, replacing an old, failing retaining wall. The end compost product is used for pasture fertilization, gardening, and yard enrichment. Any extra compost is offered free to others in the community, bringing back several repeat customers every year either by the bucket or truck load. Chuck told us "Your compost system is one of the best things that we have incorporated in our horse boarding operations. Not only does it help in reducing the fly population, it also eliminates the manure and urine odor in and around the horse barn. It has been a valuable part of the operation and beautification of our farm. Anyone who owns horses and doesn’t have an O2Compost system is crazy!”
