Canby Farm

Canby, OR

Helen F. and Mike B. wanted to do something other than stack the manure/bedding on the ground (in open weather) to "compost". Then one day the Oregon Mounted Patrol was invited to talk at a local dressage chapter meeting. When asked about manure handling, they recommended O2Compost aerated systems. Now Helen and Mike use their Benchmark system to compost the manure and sawdust/pellet bedding from two horses. The finished compost is spread on their pastures and given away to local residents. Helen says "I like that the air system (pushing air up through the pile) means you don't have to turn it. And I like being able to consult with people who have experience."
